This! I enjoy drawing dragons, and when I first started my drawings had ears, but eventually it just got the point where no matter how hard I tried they didn’t look right, and I hated drawing them, so I just.... stopped. If you don't like it, don't do it, its as simple as that when it comes to YOUR art, because its yours, and as the video already said, you should enjoy it

There are ways to modify images in such a way that it disrupts AI training while having the image appear the same to the naked eye. Hemlock iirc.

I like the idea of what you are doing. I wish you were more organized with your teaching philosophy, but as i reread this, it may not be possible, or even ideal. If I'm interpreting your intention correctly, your value is your access. (ie, it's exciting that my artwork will be critiqued by a Disney Artist!) That does have value, and a teacher friend of mine said, the most important part of education is interest. So commodifying education serves that purpose. Marketing art education is relevant. I find getting the students' placement on the Dunning Kruger scale to move even incrementally on the road to its eventual ideal spot is the goal, but we also must keep the pupil from abandoning the cause altogether. You cannot move on the chart if you leave the chart. And I'm aware that very few character design learners, or for that matter, any student of any trade, in this case an artistic one, truly will stop on, and watch with intent, videos like those of Steve Huston's. Dry three hour lectures on the structure of the head requiring complete attention and active learning are not how many want to spend their moments of free time while browsing UA-cam. I guess my point of contention would be that a momentary 'treat' may leave many to a short respite of joy followed by subsequent hours of frustration. I did what she said on this drawing and it worked, but why is it not working on all my subsequent drawings? Many learners are unaware that the path forward is a zig zag. My first academic figure drawing teacher would indicate what he was doing during his demos, but omit the steps he took for granted, whether by choice or by learned replaced behavior, which to the lay person can only be described as instinct and talent. But it's not. As I watch you make student work more effective, and discuss why your choices are better, you mention a few tools your are using to improve the work, but ignore the rest. I want to point out, before I continue, that I don't think it is possible to teach all the tools you are accessing to determine your choice for altering the shape of the hair, for example, and I, for one, have no replacement method for your chosen teaching technique. At any rate, as I watch your tutilidge, I find myself frustrated. I see how you are improving the students work, and I know the tools that you are using to do as such, but for every tool you explain, there are many, many more you are using that you are omitting from the lesson. As a student, I would think to myself that the problem can be solved with the one tool. As a teacher, I think to myself: How could I address the issue indicating all the tools required to solve the one problem. Alas, I have no solution, because learning a skill is a process over time, requiring trial and error, and sometimes teaching that process requires manipulation over the exasperating truth that these short teachable moments aren't getting us from the base camp to the top of the mountain, but rather, from being inside our tent at base camp to being inside our tent at base camp, a few steps closer to the flap of our tent, still then being where I am still in my tent at base camp. This may not be helpful because at this point, the actual useful tool to me still seems to be mainly interest. For the student i think how exciting it may be to know how close i was to getting a character design to the place it needed to get to. So with nothing to show, and no real suggestion to make, i leave you here with this anecdote: Whether you like his films or not, I remember seeing an interview where M. Night Shamalan said he is a director not because he loves directing, but rather that he feels he must direct, contrary to how difficult the experience always is.

Wait, does this include Adobe Fresco then as well? I don’t have the Creative Cloud app and just use Fresco without the subscription and have been for a while but with this info I might consider switching cause no way I want to let AI use my work on there (will suck tho cause I actually really like using it). Is there anyway to turn off their access to my work like Tumblr does or do they not even include Fresco with this AI update or will I probably have to switch? If so, can anyone here recommend any good drawing apps on the iPad?

My company thought they could replace me with ai so I quit during a huge project, I was the team lead, and had advanced knowledge on all the tools. They ended up losing a massive client because they couldn't deliver the quality they needed, and eventually wanted to hire me back. I increased my salary by 30k and got to negotiate my full contract so I have ownership of all my created works.

Freaking Adobe is already overpriced as hell and the ONLY reason they still have for existing is that they managed to become the “industry standard” (not even because they are the definitive best but just because it would be too much of a hassle for companies to switch)

ngl I don't like the edit, it makes it look worse. If the other girls hair is simplistic then you should make the OTHER one simplistic as well, and the way you "fixed" their faces looks weird too, the angle just looks weird. Even the thing at the beginning felt more empty when you made em smaller, you should've added more notes.

Adobe pissed me off so bad when they released Firefly that I cancelled what few Adobe programs I was still reluctantly using and got customer service to refund 8 months of subscription fees. I’ve been seeing online companies trying to use TOS to filch unpaid use of people’s creations for 25 years, and I’m still stunned by Adobe pulling this stunt. Even before that, many companies that had art, writing, or photography contests, claimed all rights to the work as a condition of entering. Which is such hot 💩.

The truth is: More than 90% of the time, your outfit doesn't matter. If you picked your outfit at random every time you went out, your life would be pretty much the same. If a guy liked you, he would have liked you no matter what outfit you wore, and if he didn't like you, no outfit would have changed that. There are only a few occasions where your outfit is not completely irrelevant (business meeting, wedding, funeral, etc.), and even then it doesn't matter what exactly you wear as long as your outfit is appropriate for that type of event.

I think the only critique I have is the use of the term "ai art" because there is no such thing. there are ai generated images, but no such thing as ai "art". I do think that glazing and nightshade are incredible, and reading that post about the experience had with ai prompt ppl at that job was VERY hopeful (and kinda funny ngl) for now, the most punk thing we can do is create and protect our creations ❤️
